Today I got the book《The Colour Purple》 from the library. I flipped the pages briefly and decided to return it. Mainly the whole book was written in the tone of Celie, that poor black girl speaking and writing broken English. I read books to improve my English, so I’ll just give up this book.

Since I moved to Canada , I saw one disaster after another: wildfire, flooding ... The officials/politicians like to say they made us strong, united. It is true for me. I saw the country cherished people’s lives more than anything else. I still remember about one month ago, I was evacuated from my room for a shipping box which someone thought would explode and called 911.

With the experience like these, I challenged the Chinese propaganda on weibo, a Chinese twitter, for Chinese firefighters: if dozens of firefighters were sent out to put off the wildfire and lost their lives for it , was it reasonable to send them there? Should the one who gave this order take responsibility for the lost lives?

NASA’s administrator Jim Bridenstine is humorous and charming, very good at making a speech. He spoke at Florida Tech today. The whole video lasts more than 1 hour. I am glad that I can understand the whole speech without the subtitles. His pronunciation is very clear.
